Important Dates!

The firefighters will be here on Wednesday, October 18. We always look forward to their visit! They will teach us to Stop, Drop, and Roll...show us the fire truck...and sometimes they even let us try out the fire hose!

(Just found out the fire fighters have postponed. I'll post the new date when I find out.)

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip is Friday, October 2

http://www.gailspumpkinpatch.com/

The above link will take you to the pumpkin patch we will be visiting this Friday. It has the address, directions, phone number and some photos.
Students need to be at school on Friday at 8:45, we plan to load the busses by 9:00. Please let us know if you will be riding the bus or driving a vehicle. If you are driving, your child will be welcome to ride home with you...just let a teacher know.
Also, let us know if a younger sibling will be participating in the craft-making so we can let Ms. Gail know the numbers.
Everyone needs a sack lunch.
It should be a great day!

Week of September 28...

We will be starting a two month unit on trees! (the kids seem to like this one and each week we will cover a differenct topic) This week we will touch on what we already know about trees...I would love if each family will take a nature walk around their neighborhood or park or forest preserve...take note of the trees, if they are bigger or smaller than your child, what grows on them, what they look like, etc... It would be especially great if you can send a small baggie with your child of an item or two that they gathered from your walk that fell off of a tree...such as leaves, twigs, acorns, nuts, bark, etc...  We will study these items in our Discovery Center this week :)
Thank you!

More of our daily routine
Legos are great for fine motor skills and problem solving.
Ms Gayle is the physical therapy provider. She drops by weekly to work
with one of our friends...and thankfully she is happy to share her toys!
Play doh is another fine motor strengthener...as well as a good area to
strengthen social skills.
The balance beam and weighted ball were both huge hits this morning!
